It takes a few minutes to install PrépaCivile and be ready. In case of immediate danger, dial 911.
1. Install the application
See official application page The Android download remains disabled on this version of the site. For an approved version already installed, the minimum published configuration is Android 7.0.
2. Open the app and create your profile
You can use it immediately without an email address (anonymous profile). To recover your data when changing phones, secure your profile with an email address in your personal profile. Enable notifications to receive alerts.
3. Create or join a cell
A cell is your group: family, neighbours or team. Create one, or join the one of a relative with his code; the administrator must approve your application. You can be part of several cells.
4. Receive alerts from your area
In "Local Alerts", allow the position: the app automatically selects your Environment Canada area and updates it when you move. You can also choose a sector by hand.
5. Prepare your kit and know your risks
Consult the risks of your municipality, complete your 72-hour kit and do a guided exercise with your loved ones.
6. In case of event
Indicate your status (safe, need help, emergency) or trigger an alert: your cell is notified. Response protocols and the incident co-pilot guide you to the right gestures.
7. Position sharing (optional)
You can agree to share your position with your cell, same closed application. It is optional, removable at any time in your profile, and these positions are deleted after 7 days.
8. Remove Your Account
In the personal profile: "Delete my account and my data." If you own a cell that still has members, transfer the property first.
