In this article
The WaterBOB is a bladder for temporary water storage inside a bathtub. It can supplement an existing supply when advance warning leaves time to fill it. It does not produce drinking water or treat contamination, and it is not a permanent reserve available in every situation.
Check how it fits your plan
The bathtub becomes unavailable, and the filled bladder is heavy: one litre of water weighs about one kilogram. Check the installation, usable capacity and building constraints. The advertised maximum is not a target you must reach. Setup and dispensing must be manageable; a full bladder cannot be carried like a water container.
Fill only with suitable water
Check official water advisories and the instructions for your model. Contaminated tap water does not become safe simply because it is stored in a clean bladder. Do not rely on a tap after service has already stopped. Keep independent drinking-water bottles or containers accessible for evacuation or a filling problem.
Follow the setup instructions
The manufacturer describes laying the bladder flat in the bathtub, openings facing up near the tap, then filling with cold water using the supplied connection. Close the caps as directed. Protect the bladder from sharp objects and keep the area clean. Check the instructions supplied with your version; this article does not replace them.
Dispense without contaminating the water
Use the pump and a clean receiving container as directed. The manufacturer describes siphoning into a container below the water level and stopping the flow using the designated vent. Avoid unnecessary contact with water-contact surfaces. Protect the supply from heat and light as instructed. No maximum storage time is guaranteed independently of actual conditions.
Plan for disposal after use
The manufacturer’s manual plans to empty and then discard the pouch after use; do not present it as a durable reusable container. Do not add a universal dose of bleach or a randomly chosen tablet: the treatment depends on the water, the product and the applicable instructions. The two-litre PrépaCivile marker for drinking plus two litres for meals and minimum hygiene is used to plan needs, not to certify the quality of a tank.
