This week, complete the body of water of week 17. It is about making the reserve more accessible and preparing for a replenishment if the interruption lasts. Store more water only if the containers, location and handling remain suitable.
Measure what is really missing
Compare the reserve to the needs of the home: drink, cooking, hygiene and animals. Check local recommendations and special needs, and then choose a realistic progression. A longer reserve also requires more space, rotation and transport capacity.
Avoid concentrating all the water in a container that is impossible to move. Test the filling and pouring with users. Do not overload a shelf or an installation whose capacity you do not know.
Provide containers for different uses
Large containers can be used for home storage, while a bottle makes it easy to leave or move around. Check the suitability for drinking water, cleaning and closing. A bottle is not a filter and does not replace a family stock.
A flexible or bathtub container is suitable only if the package leaflet and plan justify it. Filling it requires still safe water and time before the interruption. Water drawn directly from an unknown tub, tank or facility is not automatically drinkable.
Organizing the Replenishment
Find municipal information about distribution points and restrictions. Plan how to carry the water, who can help and what containers will be accepted. Keep contact information usable offline.
For a private well with electric pump, have a continuity solution evaluated by a professional. Depth, water quality, installation and local requirements determine what is possible. A hand pump chosen without study is not a universal answer.
Do not confuse alternative source and drinking water
Rainwater or a natural source may contain contaminants. Its use depends on the use, the rules and a suitable treatment. Do not count it as available drinking water without validating the entire chain.
A filter chosen for a specific need can complete the plan. Check its limitations and replacement parts; do not retain a filtered duration or volume as a condition-independent warranty.
Appropriate tablets may meet certain microbiological risks according to their package leaflet. They do not regulate a chemical contamination and the doses or deadlines of one brand do not apply to another.
Actions of the week
- Recalculate the needs and actual storage capacity.
- Test the handling and access to containers.
- Check rotation and maintenance.
- Identify an authorized source of replenishment.
- Have the specific needs of a well or treatment assessed.
Your expected result: a more distributed reserve and a realistic continuation if it needs to be renewed.

Put this reading into practice
Perform the action as you wish and then check the result. Your follow-up remains specific to this route.
52 weeks to strengthen your preparation; Week 24
Preparing an opinion on water
Your action: Identify the local source of the reviews and note the difference between a boil notice and a consumption ban.
To check: The household knows where to check the locker; an ordinary filter is not presumed to resolve any contamination.
